The long-awaited Universal Epic Universe has officially opened at Universal Orlando, bringing five mind-blowingly immersive worlds to one amazing new theme park. The reviews have been rolling in, and visitors can’t stop raving about stepping through magical portals into lands of wizards, video games, dragon-riding adventures, classic movie monsters, and celestial wonders.

The debut of Universal Epic Universe is easily one of the most exciting things happening in Orlando—or anywhere else—in 2025. Let’s explore its five unique portals to see what makes it such a must-visit destination.

Celestial Park

If you’re looking for otherworldly excitement, start your Epic Universe journey at Celestial Park. What do we mean by “otherworldly”? Celestial Park takes visitors on a journey beyond Earth, through the cosmos, inspired by ancient myths and stars. 

Stardust Racers, a spectacular new dual-launch racing coaster, is a major highlight, offering a chance to ride a shooting star at speeds over 60 miles per hour. You’ll hit heights of up to 133 feet and zoom on 5,000 feet of track as you race riders on parallel tracks. Looking for something a little more kid-friendly? Constellation Carousel is a modern spin on merry-go-rounds that will have you soaring and twirling as you ride celestial lions, dragons, and peacocks representing constellations in the Milky Way. 

It’s not all about the rides. There are plenty of restaurants and themed shops to discover throughout Celestial Park. For a fine dining experience evoking the wonders of the deep seas, head to Atlantic. This elegant restaurant offers outstanding surf and turf in an incredible setting resembling an enormous Victorian aquarium, surrounded by stunning sea life. 

Dark Universe

For some thrill seekers, no theme park is complete without spine-tingling, bone-chilling exhilaration. While nothing can truly darken Orlando’s famously bright sunshine, the spooky atmosphere of Dark Universe brings a shadowy realm to life for those seeking hair-raising fun. Here, the sinister spookmasters of classic Hollywood have been unleashed in Darkmoor Village. Think Frankenstein’s monster, Dracula, mummies, werewolves, and other iconic creatures. 

The story behind Dark Universe is as compelling as its attractions: mad scientist Dr. Victoria Frankenstein’s ill-fated experiments have created a land of chills and thrills. The marquee ride, Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment, invites you into the scientist’s haunted manor to witness firsthand how her science went awry and created a monstrous landscape. Fans of classic horror and movie magic will love the carefully crafted environment where they can engage with their favorite monsters in an entirely new dimension. 

Once you’ve worked up a thirst from all the scares, The Burning Blade Tavern will get your attention with its flaming windmill beckoning weary travelers to its door. This old mill offers a chance to mingle with monster hunters, along with a menu of burgers, wings, bratwurst, pretzels, and cold drinks.  

How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk

At How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, you can embark on a “dragon-sized” experience, immersing yourself in the beloved franchise through live shows, rides, and delightful dining. 

One of the highlights is Hiccup’s Wing Gliders, a family-friendly coaster where young fans can test their mettle as dragon riders and meet Hiccup and Toothless along the way. You can also try your hand at the sport of dragon racing and train to be a champion racer at Dragon Racer’s Rally. 

Don’t miss a spectacular live performance of The Untrainable Dragon, a new musical show that follows the story of a new dragon arriving at Isle of Berk. Prepare to be awed as Toothless soars above the audience with a wingspan of nearly 27 feet, creating a truly dazzling display of dragon flight.

SUPER NINTENDO WORLD
