Holiday Happenings at Hotel Landy
July 4: Party Poolside
For our first Independence Day as Hotel Landy, we decided there’s no better way to kick off a new tradition than by kicking back with a cool drink in the hot sun! We’ll have an exclusive Liquid Sunshine menu on offer, featuring a patriotic selection of all-American favorites. Think burgers, hot dogs, and kabobs straight from the grill. Challenge one another to lawn games, and spend the Fourth of July with us! The weather should be ideal for sipping, splashing, and even catching some nearby fireworks.
July 5: Food Truck Friday
The fun doesn’t stop on the Fourth! It’s going to be a TGIF kind of vibe on July 5, as we’ll enjoy Food Truck Friday, our tribute to delectable street food at Liquid Sunshine. Join us for chef-crafted takes on street food classics from around the United States. Combine shareable bites with refreshing beverages and captivating games in the warm Florida air. What could be better on a sunny Friday afternoon in Orlando?
July 6: Saturday Pool Party
Keep the energy going with a Saturday pool party right here at Hotel Landy! Sparkling cocktails, wine, and chef-prepared food specials will help you find your rhythm while you enjoy a festive and family-friendly aquatic atmosphere.
Fantastic Fireworks
Independence Day and fireworks go together like Florida and sunshine. Orlando features nightly fireworks displays — catch spectacular sights every night at the Magic Kingdom and other nearby theme parks. But of course, the Fourth features extraordinary displays you won’t see at other times of the year. Over at Magic Kingdom, “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” will light up the night skies on July 3 and July 4, replacing the usual nightly “Happily Ever After” display. If EPCOT and Magic Kingdom are two of your favorite places to visit in Orlando, you’ll be happy to learn the show will be visible from both, and you’ll enjoy DJ parties throughout the park to get you moving and enjoying a festive atmosphere.
SeaWorld Orlando’s central lake will be the site of an inspiring fireworks show dedicated to America. The fireworks will be visible from Bayside Stadium and other spots along the lake, and beautifully synchronized music will accompany the dazzling display of red, white, and blue. LEGOLAND Florida Resort will offer extended park hours and plenty of ways to party, along with their Red, White & BOOM! fireworks show over Lake Eloise. The most incredible part? LEGOLAND will be giving away cool viewing glasses that will make the bursts look like LEGO blocks! Perfect for the LEGO-loving kid in your life.
Outside of the theme parks, one of Orlando’s very favorite Independence Day celebrations takes place at Lake Eola Park in the heart of Downtown. Fireworks at the Fountain will be returning for its 47th year! It’s a classic Orlando gathering that brings together our vibrant community in a festive and welcoming show of patriotism. The show will blast off after dark, at 9:10 p.m., but the festivities will get underway at 4 p.m. with live entertainment and a variety of vendors selling food and beverages for you to enjoy with your group. If you can’t make it out to the park but still want to take part in this Orlando tradition, you can tune into News 6 WKMG starting at 8 p.m. for a live broadcast.
Have Fun in the Florida Sun
The Fourth of July is a great time to visit Orlando. July really helps contribute to Florida’s official reputation as the Sunshine State. With daytime temperatures frequently going north of 90 degrees, there is no shortage of summer weather! Meanwhile, nighttime temperatures are quite pleasant, averaging around 75 degrees all month long. These are days made for making a splash with a cool drink poolside and nights made for gathering outside to take in breathtaking fireworks displays. If you’re spending time outdoors, don’t forget your sun protection and make sure to stay hydrated!
Other Ways to Celebrate Here
With so much going on here at Hotel Landy, you don’t need to leave the property to build a fun and family-friendly Fourth of July. Escape to our Kinetic Game Room to make your own (figurative!) fireworks. It’s a great way for the kids to burn off some energy and engage in a little friendly competition. You can also choose to start your Fourth of July festivities at Émilie Bar & Lounge, our signature restaurant offering delightful cocktails like the Kentucky Maid, Knickerbocker, or Mambo Italiano! Fish tacos, steak frites, or ahi tuna tartare are all available to get the night started right. Make a patriotic splash in the Florida sun at Liquid Sunshine, our poolside food truck.
